David Dearie

President

David Dearie is the President and Founder of the Enlisted Leadership Foundation, a San Diego based pass through nonprofit whose mission is to develop the future military, community, and national leaders. Since 2014 over 21,000 enlisted military have attended programs and events created and hosted by the Enlisted Leadership Foundation.

 

A native of Carlsbad, California, David transitioned from the Navy in 2015 after more than 30 years of service. He held the position of Region Command Master Chief for Navy Region Southwest at his final tour of duty. In his career he served on nine ships, five shore commands, and overseas in Japan and Hawaii.  At the time of his transition he was noted as one of the Navy’s experts on military and family programs as well as leadership education. His experiences and relationships continue to influence companies and organizations who serve the military community and military families.

 

David is a member of the John Maxwell Team for speaking, teaching and coaching, holds a M.A. in Education and Technology Learning from Azusa Pacific University, and a recent graduate of the Institute of Veteran's & Military Family Entrepreneur Bootcamp for Veterans at Texas A&M University.

Travis Winfield

Vice President

Travis Winfield military career began when he enlisted in September 1992 and attended basic training in Orlando,

Florida. After graduating, Travis served at several commands that included USS TICONDEROGA (CG 47), USS San Diego

(LPD 22) and USS Freedom (LCS 1), where he served as the Command Senior Chief. In June of 2016, Travis Winfield made

the challenging decision to retire from the Navy and pursue his passion in the Real Estate profession.


In 2011, Travis obtained his CA real estate license and began learning the business while on active duty. After retiring

from the Navy in 2016, he started growing his Real Estate business full time. Since then, he has grown the MORE Group,

Brokered by EXP Realty nationally and is one of the top producing/rated Real Estate teams in the Country. His team is

unique in that he only hires Military, Veterans and their families, specializing in Military benefits.


In addition, his civic activities include serving on the on the Board of Directors as VP for the Enlisted Leadership

Foundation devoted to teaching leadership and financial health to our active duty military. He has also helped educate

military families as a Contributor for MilitaryTimes.com.


His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy

Achievement Medal (three awards), Good Conduct (six awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal and

various other Campaign and Unit awards. In Real Estate, his awards include 2019 Sentry Residential Agent of the Year,

the Five Star Professional Award; SDAR Recognition of Excellence Platinum Award; Big Block Realty Winners Circle Top

5%, San Diego Real Producers Top 2%, America’s Top 1% Real Estate Agents and California State Senate Recognition of

Excellence for his support to our Veteran community.


Travis Winfield has been married to his beautiful wife, Maria, since 1998 and have two incredible children, Sebastian and

Felicia, who are also part of his Real Estate Business. They are his “WHY”!

Diane McQueen-Gipson

Secretary

A native of Palo Alto, CA, Diane McQueen-Gipson entered the Navy in January 1988 and completed basic training at Recruit Training Center, Orlando, Florida in March. Following recruit training, she attended AO “A” school in Millington, TN and upon completion attended A6 FRAMP School in Whidbey Island, WA.


Diane’s afloat career includes the USS EISENHOWER during the ships first deployment with permanently assigned female crew members. The USS JOHN C. STENNIS assigned with the Bluewolves of Sea Control Squadron 35 (VS-35). The USS RONALD REAGAN, USS PELELIU and USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT.  Her shore tours include the Naval Air Facility in El Centro, CA, Naval Air Station, Agana, Guam, Naval Air Station, Sigonella, Sicily, VS-41, HS-10, Naval Operations Logistics Supply Center Ammunition Pacific and Naval Munitions Command, Det North Island.



Diane holds a Master’s Degree in Administrative Leadership from the University of Oklahoma and is part of the Board of Directors for the Association of Aviation Ordnancemen, Chapter 8.  Her personal awards include the Meritorious Service Award(two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards) and numerous of unit awards.


Jim Ritch

Director

A native of Woodland, California, Jim transitioned from the Navy in 2019 after 30 years of service completing his final six years  as a Command Master Chief.  During his service he served on three ships, an aviation squadron, a special warfare unit, and four shore commands.


Prior to transitioning from Naval service, he volunteered as the Foundry class 011 Command Master Chief.  Impacted like the students by the effects of the program, it led to Jim’s nomination as an advisor for Foundry Class 012 and later joined the Enlisted Leadership Foundation’s Board of Director as the Vice President in 2019. 


In 2021, Jim completed the Resilience-Building Leadership Program - Trainer RBLP-T certification and relocated to Colorado Springs.  His passion for connecting with people and public speaking led to joining the team of volunteers at the United States Air Force Academy in the Experiential Learning Department of the Center for Character and Leadership Development.


Keith Goosby

Director

Force Master Chief Keith Goosby, (U.S. Navy, retired), is an accomplished leader with a broad background on leadership, diversity, military family resiliency, and mentoring/coaching relationships. His thirst for leadership education and inspiring others has positively impacted the military community as well as many in the civilian sector.

 

 A native of Leesville Illinois, Keith retired from the Navy in 2004 after completing 30 years of service. During this time in the Navy, he served on five ships and in four aviation squadrons, making seven deployments and countless flights that took him to 22 countries. Keith was noted to be an expert in leadership, a pioneer in the Navy’s diversity efforts, and a personal mentor and coach to many. 

 

Upon retirement from the U.S. Navy, Keith served as the outreach coordinator for the San Diego and Imperial Counties American Red Cross. He is currently employed as the Navy Region Southwest Work and Family Life Coordinator where he provides policy, guidance, support and oversight to programs such as personal financial management, military transition to civilian life, and life skills education, positively impacting the lives of many. 

John Crewdson

Director

John Crewdson is a Mobile Team Training facilitator with Zeiders Enterprises where he provides Operational Stress Control training to Navy commands as they prepare for deployment. He served for 30 years as an Operations Specialist and Command Master Chief in the US Navy retiring in 2014. Additionally; he continues to serve as a volunteer giving back to his Navy family as a volunteer with the Enlisted Leadership Foundation as the CFO.

A native of Lincoln Nebraska and a graduate of Parma Senior High School in Cleveland, Ohio in 1983. He received his BS degree from the University of La Verne in 1992 and his MBA from Touro University in 2003. A Graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy in 2004, Command Master Chief Course in 2005, and the Senior Enlisted Keystone course in February 2010.

Enlisting in the navy in 1984, His military experience included the following sea and shore assignments:

Sea Duty Assignments include USS DOWNES (FF 1070) March 1985 to July 1987, USS VALLEY FORGE (CG 50) August 1987 to January 1990, USS PRINCETON (CG 59) March 1993 to August 1996, PCU BONHOMME RICHARD (LHD 6) January 1997 to September 1997. USS DECATUR (DDG 73) September 1997 to March 2000, USS BENFOLD (DDG 65), USS HIGGINS (DDG 76), and USS JOHN PAUL JONES (DDG 53) from February 2003 to September 2005, USS DENVER (LPD 9) November 2005 to July 2008, and USS JUNEAU (LPD 10) July 2008 to August 2008. USS ANCHORAGE (LPD 23) May 2011 to July 2012.

His shore duty assignments include Pacific Missile Test Center, Point Mugu, California from February 1990 to March 1993, Fleet Combat Training Center, Pacific from March 2000 to January 2003, and Helicopter Sea Combat Wing Pacific August 2008 to May 2011, and Naval Air Facility, El Centro November 2012 to April 2014.

He and his wife Liz have 6 grown children.

Rosa Wilson

Director

A native of South Carolina, and a graduate of Walterboro High School, Master Chief Wilson joined the Navy one year after graduation. She completed recruit training and Airman Training school in Orlando, FLA.

Master Chief Wilson’s assignments at sea include Patrol Squadron NINETEEN, BUPERS SEA Special Program, Carrier Air Wing FOURTEEN, USS John C Stennis (CVN 74); Helicopter Squadron FOUR and Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti Africa. Her shore assignments include Recruit Division Commander at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL; Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron ELEVEN, and Naval Air Station, Sigonella, Sicily. As Aviation Administrator Maintenance Master Chief, oversaw over 100,000 logbooks and flight operations.  

Master Chief Wilson is a graduate of the Navy’s Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 98 and the Command Master Chief course held in Newport, RI. She is the recipient of the FY 2008 CAPT JOY BRIGHT Leadership Award. Her personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards), Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6 awards), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards), various service and campaign awards.

 Rosa L. Wilson is Deputy Director at the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society San Diego, CA. She is currently enrolled at the University of Phoenix as a full-time student in pursuit of her Masters in School Counseling and is a volunteer Shelter Supervisor for the American Red Cross.
